Dilution and Coverage
Dilution: Product used undiluted for most applications — test application recommended.
Coverage: Dependent upon substrate and other conditions.
Application
Before application, substrate must be completely dry. SB 2418 should be applied at a rate of 150 – 300 square feet per gallon depending on surface texture and desired gloss. In most situations 2 thin coats will provide a more even surface than one heavy coat where the product “ponds” in low places. For application on very porous surfaces it is recommended to apply initial coat very thin [even adding water if necessary] to allow any foam/bubbles to break for a smooth, even cure. Once dry, a second coat can be applied if desired.
Cleanup of tools or equipment can be done with warm soap and water. Dried or partially dried films may require a solvent such as alcohol, acetone, or a glycol ether to remove. Special cleaners for removing latex paints from brushes are available and quite suitable. Mineral spirits is not effective. Drying time is dependent on the ambient temperature and relative humidity. In warm, dry weather allow at least 3-4 hours for light foot traffic and 24 hours for vehicular traffic.
