3M Scotchgard concentrate offers 1 part concentrate to 4 parts water.  One gallon of concentrate will mix to make 5 total gallons of RTU solution. After diluting, each mixed gallon covers 200 sq ft; that is a little over 1/2 oz per sq ft so carpets dry fast. 

The bottle hooks right to your PowerForce, Hydro-Force, 3M All-Purpose Sprayers & other spraying equipment, making proper application incredibly easy.

Scotchgard surrounds carpet and upholstery fibers with an invisible barrier that protects against oil and water-based stains. When spills and accidents occur, the customer has more time to remove the spot before it becomes a stain – helping ensure the carpet stays looking newer and fresher longer. Plus, Scotchgard helps release stains more easily during professional cleanings, making your job easier too!

Here’s something else your customers will love – Scotchgard is environmentally friendly. 3M no longer uses perfluorooctanol chemical (PFOS) compounds in the Scotchgard formula. So not only does your customer get excellent stain protection, you can confidently use a formula that has enhanced environmental, health, and safety benefits that pass regulatory reviews of the EPA and other environmental agencies around the world.

Usage

Applying 3M Scotchgard Protector to Carpet and Upholstery

Use only a dedicated sprayer for Scotchgard. Do not mix with other chemicals. Clean up any overspray while it is wet, as it can be difficult to remove once it dries.

Application Steps:

1. Make sure carpet is clean.
2. Using an electric, pump-up, or inline sprayer with an 8004 spray tip for carpet, or a 5001 spray tip for upholstery, apply diluted Scotchgard evenly to fibers.
3. Rake the Scotchgard into the carpet with a Grandi Groom rake or use a soft brush to brush it into the upholstery.
4. Use air movers to assist in speed drying carpet or upholstery.

Note: When applying Scotchgard to upholstery, be sure it is wet cleanable fabric.
Do not apply to dry-clean-only fabrics. Check the upholstery tag for cleaning instructions.

Scotchgard protection will last approximately one year in residential homes and about three months commercially.
